The group is ideal for adults (18+) on a waitlist, or to complement and enhance their existing individual 1:1 work.
The referring clinician/parent can receive a weekly update, with the client’s consent.

What will you learn?
Discover the negatives and positives of pain avoidance, learn enhanced distraction skills & radical acceptance, and how to balance emotions & facts. Effectively navigate problem-solving & pleasure. Acquire new communication skills, negotiation skills and mindfulness techniques.
Meet the course facilitators
Before joining The Soke, Dean worked at The Priory where he grew the therapy programmes offered from one service into six and introduced a DBT programme, mindfulness, drama, 3rd wave therapies, equine therapy and Transactional Analysis to the organisation. He is known for his experience, compassion and approachability.

Laurel is an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist who has worked with acutely unwell clients as well as those whose issues are more manageable. Laurel employs CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy and mindfulness in her work, integrating a wide range of skills to propel her clients to a place of emotional security with self-esteem and hope for the future.

Hannah joined The Soke in 2022 as part of her training & development as she works towards her qualifications as a psychologist. Hannah graduated with distinction from Goldsmiths University where she obtained an MSc in Clinical Psychology and Health Services, whilst also working within an NHS IAPT service.
Between her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, Hannah worked in a psychiatric hospital in Bali, Indonesia, where she mainly led non-verbal, psychologically focused activities.

GROUP DYNAMICS
This group provides a safe space for a small group of 4-8 attendees.
It will give you the opportunity to learn from other participants by giving attendees a voice, offering a sounding board, and allowing feedback from others in a supportive environment.
BOOKING FORM
Start date: Wednesday 11 January 2023, 1pm-2.30pm; followed by 12 weekly sessions. Mindful intakes every 4 weeks.
