Raquel Montoya, Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Raquel is an Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, working with adults aged 18+. She specialises in trauma, including complex and developmental trauma, alongside anxiety, depression, personality difficulties, relationship challenges, grief and loss, self-harm, and emotional dysregulation. Her approach is grounded in psychoanalytic thinking, helping clients understand how past experiences shape present emotions, relationships and patterns of behaviour.

Raquel has extensive NHS experience, having worked for six years as an Honorary Psychotherapist at The Maudsley Hospital and as part of The Fitzjohn's Unit at The Tavistock Clinic, a specialist service for adults with complex psychological presentations. She is currently undertaking further specialist clinical work in Complex Trauma at The Tavistock.

Before retraining as a psychotherapist, Raquel had an international corporate career, giving her a strong understanding of professional pressures, burnout, identity transitions and major life changes.

Raquel also practices in fluent Spanish.
