Laurel Playford, Chartered Counselling Psychologist
Laurel Playford is an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist who works with adults aged 18 and over, offering a compassionate, collaborative, and relational approach to therapy. She provides a warm and reflective space where clients can explore challenges safely, deepen their self‑understanding, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence‑based, drawing on relational therapy, mindfulness, CBT, schema therapy, DBT skills, and attachment‑focused work. This allows her to tailor therapy to each individual, helping clients recognise patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and build resilience, while considering the interplay of thoughts, feelings, relationships, and lived experience.
Laurel is experienced in working with a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, phobias, adjustment difficulties, bipolar disorder, personality‑related challenges, anger, grief and loss, stress, and identity or life‑transition issues. She also supports neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism. Her balanced approach blends practical coping strategies with deeper therapeutic exploration, helping clients feel more grounded, self‑aware, and empowered in their daily lives.
