Sagal Hassan, Child & Adolescent Therapist
Sagal is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at The Soke and in doctoral training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, with extensive experience delivering specialist psychological care across NHS settings. Sagal works with children, adolescents, and families facing a wide range of complex mental health challenges, including chronic medical conditions, functional symptoms, and psychosocial adversity.
Sagal also has a wide range of experience working with neurodiverse children and young people, and contributing to neurodevelopment assessments from a specialist lens. Sagal’s work in Paediatric hospital settings compliments working with neurodiverse client groups, as many are impacted by physical and chronic health issues like EDS, Pots, Chronic fatigue and functional neurological disorders,
Her practice is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic assessment and various interventions, including NICE-guideline recommended treatments. Sagal is known for her collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams and her commitment to delivering accessible, culturally sensitive, patient-centred care.
Alongside her clinical roles, Sagal has experience consulting to the Mayor of London’s Office campaign on FGM and gender-based violence prevention and has published expert opinion pieces on children’s mental health in mainstream media.
Sagal holds additional postgraduate qualifications in psychoanalytic approaches to perinatal, child, adolescent and family work, as well as an MSc in Psychoanalytic Studies from University College London.
