Michael Sheehy is a BACP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist who specialises in mental health, addiction, and compulsive behaviours. He works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and the pressures that often come with demanding professional lives. His style is warm, relational, and grounded, helping clients develop insight, balance, and lasting emotional wellbeing.
Before becoming a therapist, Michael spent over twenty years in senior roles within international organisations. This experience gives him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by professionals and executives from stress and burnout to the emotional toll of leadership and workplace dynamics.
Michael holds an MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling (Distinction) and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). He has worked within a world-renowned private mental health hospital as well as in private practice, offering individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention support.
As an integrative practitioner Integrative drawing from Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Relational Therapy, with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Michael tailors therapy to each person’s individual needs, combining depth work with practical strategies for change.
