Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is a structured, short-term form of psychotherapy that focuses on improving a person’s relationships and social interactions to help with mental health issues, especially depression. It is based on the idea that our relationships and life events significantly impact our emotional well-being.
IPT typically focuses on four key areas:
Grief & Loss – Coping with the death of a loved one or a major loss.
Role Transitions – Adjusting to life changes like a new job, divorce, or becoming a parent.
Interpersonal Conflicts – Resolving conflicts in relationships (family, romantic, work).
Interpersonal Deficits – Improving communication and building stronger social connections and relationships.
It is evidence-based and commonly used for depression, but it can also help with anxiety, eating disorders, and other conditions.
At The Soke, we offer private Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), designed to help individuals and couples improve relationships and enhance emotional well-being.
Our experienced therapists work collaboratively with clients to address key areas such as grief and loss, role transitions, interpersonal conflicts, and communication deficits. By exploring these areas, clients can develop healthier relationship patterns and coping strategies.
Sessions are available both in-person at our London-based centre and online, providing flexibility to suit your needs. To discuss how IPT can support you, please contact our Client Services team at 020 7139 5051.
