Femida Hirji, Psychotherapist & Occupational Therapist

Femida is a highly experienced psychotherapist and senior Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) practitioner, with over 25 years of experience in mental health and psychiatry across both NHS and private settings.

Her practice is rooted in a strong understanding of how early relationships influence patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating in adulthood. She works in a warm, collaborative way, placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the process and helping clients build insight, self-awareness, and lasting change.

Femida combines her specialist CAT training with her background in occupational therapy, allowing her to integrate psychological depth with practical, goal-focused approaches. She works with both adolescents and adults, supporting a wide range of mental health and relational difficulties. She has particular expertise in eating disorders, developed through many years working in specialist inpatient and outpatient services.

Her clinical experience includes working with complex and severe mental health difficulties, including roles in acute psychiatric settings where she has supported individuals experiencing significant distress and risk. Alongside this, she is equally confident in helping clients with more common emotional challenges, supporting them to understand and shift long-standing patterns that affect their wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self.
