Dr Bernadette Maunick, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Bernadette Maunick is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in neurodevelopmental assessments for children and adolescents, including ADHD and autism. She offers thorough, evidence-based evaluations using gold-standard tools such as the ADOS-2 and ADI-R for autism, alongside ADHD diagnostic interviewing (DIVA) and developmentally informed assessment approaches (including MIGDAS-2).

Bernadette is known for a warm, person-centred style that helps young people feel safe and understood, while also giving parents clear, practical answers. She works in a neurodiversity-affirming way and takes time to understand a child’s strengths, support needs, learning profile, and day-to-day functioning at home and school, so that assessment outcomes translate into meaningful next steps.

Alongside assessment work, Bernadette provides evidence-based therapy for young people and families, drawing on approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and family-based interventions. Her experience across private practice and youth-focused services supports a balanced approach: careful clinical formulation, collaborative recommendations, and detailed reporting that assists families and referrers to plan support with confidence.
