Dr Anya Ciobanca, Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Anya Ciobanca is a highly experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over two decades of expertise supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people. Deeply attuned to the complexities of emotional development, Anya is known for her compassionate, thoughtful approach to care.

Having completed her specialist training in Cambridge, Anya has worked extensively across both NHS and independent services. She brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to her work with children, adolescents and families, helping them navigate challenges ranging from anxiety and depression to OCD, trauma, and school-related stress. She has particular expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition, and Tic Disorders.

Anya is committed to a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach, forming strong therapeutic relationships that provide a foundation for growth and change. She actively involves parents in the therapeutic process, offering clear guidance and ongoing support, ensuring that families feel empowered and understood.

Her work is rooted in an integrative model, drawing from Cognitive Analytic Therapy, CBT, systemic and psychodynamic frameworks. When appropriate, she combines these approaches with medical treatment to deliver holistic and individualised care.

In addition to her clinical work, Anya teaches complex communication skills to medical students at the University of Cambridge and contributes to national research. She is fluent in both English and Romanian, and is passionate about providing culturally sensitive, inclusive care for diverse families.
