Alessandra De Petrillo, Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Alessandra De Petrillo is a Clinical Psychologist with specialist expertise in supporting children, young people, adults, and families across both psychological and physical health settings. Known for her warm and person-centred approach, she combines evidence-based therapies such as ACT, CBT, CFT, and narrative approaches with a holistic perspective that emphasises the connection between emotional, cognitive, and physical wellbeing. At King’s College Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, she has led the development of psychology provision within the Complications Related to Excess Weight Service, creating tailored interventions, resources, and clinical pathways while providing specialist therapy, supervision, and multidisciplinary consultation.
Her career has spanned diverse roles in paediatric and adult health, pain management, gastroenterology, and neurology, alongside research positions at leading institutions in the UK and Canada. Alessandra holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from King’s College London, a Master’s in Clinical Neuroscience from University College London, and a Diploma in Natural Nutrition, reflecting her interest in the interplay between mind and body. She has contributed to international research through publications on food intolerance, cognitive remediation, and neonatal neuroimaging, and continues to deepen her expertise through specialist training.
